President Joe Chorpenning uses your union dues
to give himself a $65,000 raise !!!!!!!


2013 financial information is available.

The 2013 financial reports have been released and UFCW 700 members are outraged.

The 2013 UFCW 700 LM reports from the Department of Labor show that
President Chorpenning was paid $193,000 in 2012. 
But, apparently that was not enough and Joe must have decided he needed a big raise.

His total pay in 2013 skyrocketed to over $256,000!!

How was your last contract?  Did you get a $65,000 raise?

Remember this is the President who mismanaged the finances so bad,
they had to sell the union office building.

You do not have to pay union dues in Indiana anymore. 
You may send a letter to UFCW Local 700 and copy the Kroger payroll department telling them to stop deducting dues.

Next time you see your representative, make sure to ask for a copy of the collective bargaining agreement UFCW Local 700 staff have.  It contains the details of all the additional secret special benefits they get which are paid for with your union dues.  As a member you have a right to have a copy, just ask your union representative for it.


 

New information revealed about UFCW 700 staff getting TWO pensions

Most members probably know that UFCW 700 representatives earn the maximum pension benefit through the local ufcw pension fund.  What is shocking is the second secret pension fund that the International union runs for them.  That is right, UFCW 700 has a system where their staff earns TWO full pensions.

The separate fund set up for just UFCW employees is a much better fund than the UFCW members have.  The benefits are extremely high and between the TWO full pension funds when a UFCW employee retires, they can actually get a raise from the high salary they were already making.
Did you know your union dues were paying for this secret pension fund also.


 Indianapolis Area Kroger employees no longer required
to pay mandatory dues to UFCW Local 700


If you are Kroger employee whose contract has expired or been extended since
March 14, 2012 you now do not have to pay dues to support UFCW Local 700 staff's outrageously high salaries and ridiculous spending.

This applies to Indianapolis Kroger Meat and Clerk employees whose contract expired on May 12, 2012. 
According to the Indiana Right to Work law which went into effect on March 14, 2012 it is now illegal for a union to require dues payments as a condition of employment.

To stop dues deductions from your paycheck, it is recommended that you send a letter to UFCW Local 700 and copy the Kroger payroll department.  Because many people have contacted us and asked how to do this, we have created this sample letter to download
and use.  You should consider sending it certified mail.

New Financial Information

New Financial Reports from 2011 are out.

And yes, once again the spending was out of control as UFCW 700 lived big and spent more then received in dues.
BUT THE BIG NEWS IS ..... UFCW 700 is giving away cars !!



The financial reports reveal that UFCW 700 gave an employee a new car as a retirement present.  (You can read it for yourself on page 36 of the 2011 LM report )

Wow, that is pretty bold for a union which consistently runs in the red!!!

As a UFCW Local 700 member you should be really proud.  Unbelievable.

Indiana is now a Right to Work State.

The Indiana statute, signed into law on February 1 by Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels, goes into effect on March 14, 2012, and makes it a Class A misdemeanor for any person to require, as a condition of employment or continued employment, an individual to "(1) become or remain a member of a labor organization; (2) pay dues, fees, assessments, or other charges of any kind or amount to a labor organization; or (3) pay to a charity or third party an amount that is equivalent to or a pro rata part of dues, fees, assessments, or other charges required of members of a labor organization." The statute further renders any agreement that would violate the statute "unlawful and void." Violations can result in liability for actual and consequential damages, liquidated damages up to $1,000, and attorney fees and costs incurred by the individual who suffered the injury.

What does this mean for UFCW Local 700 members?

It means the end to forced union dues.  You will have a choice.
No longer will you have to pay union dues to UFCW Local 700 just to keep your job.
